In Memoriam: Don R. McCullough, CAE

Distinguished Life member Don R. McCullough, CAE, peacefully passed away February 17, 2017 after a short battle with AML Leukemia. He was born in Austin on August 4, 1939. A longtime TSAE member, McCullough once served as interim Executive Director before the hiring of Marilyn Monroe.

McCullough and his wife, Sherrill, founded Association and Society Management Inc. (ASMI) in 1966, an association management company that managed 17 associations, both state and national, at its peak. Years later, he created his own customized association management computer software for ASMI before there were any association software solutions. Later in life, he was appointed chairman for the Georgetown CVB, where he and his wife retired.

His brother Joe McCullough, also a TSAE member, has owned and managed ASMI since 2009.
