Southwest Showcase Award Winners Announced
On January 24, Southwest Showcase will recognize its two 2018 Award Winners.
Mary Wilson, Director of Sales – Central Texas Region, Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau, will be honored with the Industry Professional of the Year Award for her more than 30-year career in the hospitality industry. She began with the Convention & Visitors Bureau of Austin, after which she joined the Hyatt Hotels of Texas. Mary has been with the Fort Worth CVB for seven years. She has held leadership positions in IAEE-CTC, MPI THCC, and TSAE, among others.
The George R. Brown Convention Center and Houston First Corporation will be honored for the GRBCC Renovation & Creation of Avenida Houston as the Most Exciting Meeting Destination Change. The campus includes the GRB, Discovery Green, Hilton Americas-Houston and the new Marriott Marquis. In addition to the changes around GRBCC, extensive renovation was done on the Center itself.
