FOLLOWING A VIRTUAL conference in 2020, TSAE was thrilled to return in-person for the 2021 New Ideas Annual Conference this September 19-21 in Corpus Christi, TX. Nearly 300 attendees gathered for two-and-a-half days of education and networking at the American Bank Center and Omni Corpus Christi.

With attendee health and safety a top priority, TSAE instituted a variety of procedures for this year’s event including proof of vaccination or negative COVID test, mask requirements on shuttles, distanced session seating, and an on-site medical professional. TSAE utilized Digital Health-Clearance Tech from CrowdPass, a free, simple, secure, and HIPAA-compliant third-party vendor, to clear attendees prior to their arrival at New Ideas. This removed staff from having to check cards or test results at registration and kept attendee information private. More than 93% of attendees submitted their proof through the system prior to arrival and a verification room with on-site testing was available on-site for those that needed it.

Social event highlights included an opening night beach party hosted by Visit Corpus Christi on a beautiful evening, desert reception with acapella group and a silent disco hosted by Omni Resorts & Conventions, and excursions around Corpus Christi. This year’s education sessions featured numerous panels with TSAE members and industry experts addressing everything form the future of work, exhibits, staffing, ethics and more. The event also included the annual Awards Luncheon and inspiring keynotes, including Houston Kraft’s relevant and interactive closing session “Deep Kindness.”

Thank you to our sponsors, partners, volunteers, and speakers for an amazing in-person event.
