The Austin Convention Center is the first convention center in Texas to achieve LEED® Gold Certification – a hallmark of sustainability. One of the country’s most technologically advanced convention centers, the four-level facility spans six city blocks and features 374,278 square feet of exhibit and meeting space. There are five contiguous, column-free exhibit halls with 247,052 square feet, seven ballrooms ranging from 3,896 to 43,400 square feet, and 54 meeting rooms totaling 63,000 square feet.
A key feature of the Austin Convention Center’s versatility is the fact that the facility’s five exhibit halls are column-free – virtually unheard of for an area so large. This allows an incredibly diverse array of events to thrive where, in ordinary columned exhibit halls, they may not. Clients have the freedom to use every inch of the abundant space – resulting in mind-blowing trade shows, galas, keynote sessions, and consumer shows. The Austin Convention Center’s exhibit space lets a meeting planner’s imagination run wild with possibilities.
The Austin Convention Center has a full suite of technology services (wireless Internet access; wired Internet access; network service and support; voice service and support) that are provided to ensure peak performance for any event and is ideal for many events with detailed and substantial technology needs. These services are in place to design an environment specifically scaled to any event need. The high-tech, gigabit-rated convention center that moves voice, video and data at over one billion bits per second features robust, complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the facility and has become the perfect technology partner for events such as the annual SXSW international multimedia festival. Our in-house team provides constant network monitoring, proactively addressing any potential areas of concern.
The Austin Convention Center is located in the capital city’s downtown business district, a short walk from 10,000 downtown hotel rooms and just down the street from the city’s vibrant nightlife. As the Live Music Capital of the World®, Austin echoes with the sound of country, rock ‘n’ roll, blues, jazz and Tejano in over 250 venues, any night of the week. With six entertainment districts and a safe and walkable downtown, it is easy to enjoy Austin’s famous live music. Visitors can also enjoy everything from fine dining in Four Star restaurants to down-home barbecue and authentic Tex-Mex.
